LS/CMI Change Control

CHANGE CONTROL PROCESS

Now that the IT System has been successfully centralised, there is a new change control process for submitting change requests for each IT application.

The current Change Request Form (across LS/CMI, Caledonian and MFMC/MF2C) can be found within the Document Library on the IT system (see screenshot below).

LS/CMI CHANGE REQUESTS

Completed LS/CMI change request forms should be submitted to the LS/CMI Change Manager. The request will then be considered by the LS/CMI Working Group. If approved, the request will be forwarded to the LS/CMI, MFMC, Caledonian, IT Application Strategic Direction Board for a final decision.

CALEDONIAN CHANGE REQUESTS

If your change request relates to the Caledonian System, the completed Caledonian System change request form should be submitted to the Caledonian National Data Coordinator. The change request will then be considered by the Caledonian System Operational Managers Group. If approved, the change request will be forwarded to the LS/CMI, MFMC, Caledonian, IT Application Strategic Direction Board for a final decision.

MFMC/MF2C CHANGE REQUESTS

If your change request relates to MFMC/MF2C, the completed MFMC/MF2C change request form should be submitted to the MFMC Representative (MFMC) or the National Design Lead (MF2C). The change request will then be considered by the MFMC Treatment Managers Group (MFMC) or MF2C Programme Oversight Board (MF2C). If approved, the change request will be forwarded to the LS/CMI, MFMC, Caledonian, IT Application Strategic Direction Board for a final decision.

LS/CMI WORKING GROUP

The LS/CMI Working Group consists of representatives from Social Work Scotland, Scottish Prison Service, Scottish Government Community Justice, Community Justice Scotland, Care Inspectorate and the RMA. Responsibilities include evaluation of change requests to consider whether to approve the request or not.

LS/CMI, MFMC, CALEDONIAN, IT APPLICATION STRATEGIC DIRECTION BOARD

The Board has responsibility for overseeing system developments and acts as a decision making body for any proposed changes to the IT systems associated with LS/CMI, MFMC and Caledonian. Change requests approved by the relevant operational groups (which includes LS/CMI Working Group) will then be discussed at the Board for a final decision to be made on whether to include the proposed change in future development work. The Board will make decisions based on factors such as; technical feasibility; development time feasibility; budget feasibility; and any other relevant considerations.
